Virginia Dirt

After tearing up the UK Country scene in 2025 — touring with Nashville star Sunny Sweeney, playing The British Country Music Festival, and clocking radio spins across BBC Introducing, Black Deer Radio and Sirius XM — Americana duo Virginia Dirt are set to release new single, ‘Wouldn’t Put It Past Me’ (the second to come from their upcoming new EP, ‘Scrub Up Good’, out on 8th May). Produced by Kitty and Lewis of Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, featuring Jack Flanagan (formerly of the Mystery Jets, now Sir Ramble), at the analogue shrine Durham Sound Studios, Camden, this 3-minute fun number was captured live and is full of honky-tonk energy, dusted with Virgie Lynne’s trademark tongue-in-cheek lyrics. With a packed festival season on the horizon, Virginia Dirt will celebrate the EP release with a special headline show upstairs at the iconic Green Note in Camden on Friday 29th May, and with over two months to go, the event is already almost sold out - a huge testament to their growing fanbase. Front-woman Virgie Lynne, born on the edge of the Great Dismal Swamp and raised on the soundtrack of small-town Southern America, writes with a sharp wit and lived-in ache. Drawing from dive-bar legends like Waylon Jennings and the raw Bakersfield sound of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens, her songwriting balances joy, humour and despair — earning comparisons to Jimmy Webb. The other half of Virginia Dirt is Corrado Cecere — a Suffolk-based Italian raised in the shadow of the Colosseum. Part metal-head rocker, part swamp- blues revivalist, with a parmesan-dusted nod to Louis Prima, his influences run from ZZ Top and AC/DC to the deepest roots of classic country. His Roman heart could just as easily have been born in the hills of Arkansas.

Viva Los Villains

Viva Los Villains is a genre-bending force, fusing rock, country, and indie into a sound that feels both familiar and entirely their own. Born in Chichester (UK) in 2024, they’ve already carved out a reputation for heartfelt storytelling, infectious hooks, and songs that linger long after the last note fades. Their music draws from a wide well of influences without ever settling into one lane. The rock foundation hits hard with raw, distorted guitars and pounding drums, while their country flair adds a warm Americana edge that feels timeless. Layered into all of this is an unmistakable indie sensibility, introspective, emotionally honest, and unafraid to show its heart. The result is a sonic identity that’s rich, textured, and genuinely memorable. Fronted by songwriters Tom Marfleet and Johnny Ordidge, later joined by multi-instrumentalist Aaron Bailey, the band operates as a dynamic collective of musicians who bring depth and character to every track. Their lyrics navigate love, longing, resilience, and the unpredictable ride of life, always rooted in authenticity and genuine emotion. Fans of The White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, and rock icons like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones will find plenty to love here. Viva Los Villains don’t just borrow from these influences, they channel them into something fresh, spirited, and ready to break through.

Vulgarithm

VULGARITHM is an artist from the east midlands in the UK for fans of riffs and club classics on steroids. Andy "Dirt" McGurk takes the best metal riffs of the early 2000s, mixes it up with 90s dance music, and adds a unique touch of crushing beats. It is for fans of music who crave originality and fresh ideas, and for those who seek to escape. At the end of 2019, Andy "Dirt" McGurk was in the band Blackhawkdown which is going one direction, but also a previous solo project which had been going for 10 years. It was in and out of band lineup changes, had recorded many albums from home, but it was going nowhere else. He needed a fresh start, a fresh identity and a fresh sound, Vulgarithm was the product of that discovery. Vulgarithm has only been around since 2020, so just as Dirt was about to bring it to the live scene, COVID hit. He had performed a couple of live sets from his teaching room but until then he just had to wait until lockdown eases. After releasing 3 EPs, and the world finally coming out of lockdown, Vulgarithm has finally been making appearances to the public. Vulgarithm has now appeared a variety of different radio shows, played up and down country and has also won a slot to play Strawberry Fair Festival in Cambridge in 2022. Currently writing his debut album, good things should be coming Vulgarithms way.
